For individuals :

The TIN of an individual is its physical identification number.
In the case of foreign individuals, the TIN is called DIMEX (“Immigration Identification Document for Foreigners”).
If a foreign individual does not have a DIMEX, the TIN is a special tax identification number called NITE.

Format:

The physical identification number consists of 9 digits (format: 9 – 9999 – 9999).
The DIMEX consists of 11 or 12 digits. (format : 99999999999 or 999999999999)
The NITE consists of 10 digits (format: 3 – 120 – 999999).

For Entities :

For entities, the TIN is the corporate identification number.
In case an entity does not have a legal personality, the TIN used is the NITE.

Format:

The corporate identification number consists of 10 digits (format: 9 – 999 – 999999).
The NITE consists of 10 digits (format: 3 – 120 – 999999).
