The TIN in Ecuador is known as the Taxpayer Unique Registry (RUC (Registro Único de Contribuyentes)).
Format:
The RUC consists of 13 digits, without letters or
special characters. (Format : 9999999999999)
For foreigners, the third digit is always 9.
The last three digits are always 001.
For entites:
International organizations with offices in Ecuador, embassies, consulates and commercial offices are not required to obtain a RUC.
