In India the TIN Number is called Permanent Account Number (PAN) and is issued by the Income Tax Department, To validate a tax identification number (TIN) from TIN, the TIN must be placed on top of it, which must obey the following format:
For Individuals and Entities(TIN)
The Taxpayer indentification number (TIN) assumes the following format:
• LLLLLNNNNL – Total of 10 digits
N - identifies that it must be a numeric digit.
L - identifies a letter
To distinguish Entities and individuals TIN numbers the 4ª character will assume value “P” for individuals or “C” for companys.
