TIN Check Japan (JP)

In Japan, the TIN for individuals is designated Individual Number, often called “My Number” and is issued by Japanese Municipalities. In case of entities the TIN Number is the Corporate Number issued by the National Tax Agency.

To validate a tax identification number (TIN) from Japan, the TIN must be placed on top of it, which must obey the following format:

For Individuals

The Individual Number (TIN) assumes the following format:
• NNNNNNNNNNNN (12 digits)

N identifies that it must be a numeric digit.

For Entities

The Corporate Number (TIN) assumes the following format:
• NNNNNNNNNNNNN (13 digits)

N identifies that it must be a numeric digit.
